Taught by Missy Dunaway
Learn the painting techniques of world traveler, Fullbright fellow and avid sketchbook painter, Missy Dunaway, as she demonstrates her approach to keeping an acrylic ink travel journal. Missy uses photos from her travels as a jumping off point, capturing the feeling and mood of the moments they depict. She recreates a nocturnal scene in this class, sharing her impressionistic approach to color and brushwork. By watching Missy work, you will learn how to paint with acrylic inks, breaking down a landscape into masses of color, then working in layers to realize composition and detail. Missy shows how to work with mistakes, mix colors right on the page, and paint your way through photographic moments, made more nostalgic and romantic in the painting process.
