Part 1:
Holiday Art Journaling: Get Your Merry On
In order to get into the artistic holiday spirit, you’ll need to get your art journal set up and ready to go. Dawn shows you how to add pages to a handmade sketchbook or a store-bought mixed media journal and create simple backgrounds. From there, you’ll set your intentions for the season and learn a few simple techniques for incorporating holiday icons into your artwork via doodles, collage, glitter and paint.
Part 2:
Holiday Art Journaling: Backgrounds and Collage
Steal a moment for yourself this week to focus on reflection and gratitude. In addition to this week’s prompts, Dawn shares ideas for incorporating old holiday cards into your journal, collaging with found imagery, and adding depth to your pages.
Part 3:
Holiday Art Journaling: Doodling and Lettering
Keep adding festive layers to your journal pages with doodled embellishments. Working through the prompts Dawn provides, she shows how to integrate drawing and lettering with existing content, adding more layers with collage and found ephemera.
Part 4:
Holiday Art Journaling: Adding Bling
In this final class, you’ll add some sparkly details and fun 3D embellishments to complete your holiday journal. If you have empty pages left in your journal and you’re feeling pressure to wrap things up, Dawn shows you a trick for combining pages, which makes them sturdier and removes blank spreads.
